I got a cross penny about two days after my Mom had passed away. I live in Montana and my Mom was fighting cancer last year from about June 2010 to January 2011. Two days after she left this earth, my sister and I drove to the town she grew up in. My Mom loved coins. Every time she would get a coin, she was all about checking the dates…especially when I was a kid and there were still hay pennies floating around.

My sis and I went to WalMart in Miles City (where my Mom grew up) and when we got to the cash register, I paid with cash…which I rarely do. They broke open a new penny roll to pay me back and to the cashier’s dismay there was one of these cross pennies…lol. I asked her if I could give her a penny for that and she was happy to trade. I immediately checked the date…and smiled. The year is the year that Mom graduated from High School in Miles City, MT (where we were). I made it into a necklace and it is a reminder of the love that I know God has for me. At that moment when I was so sad and had lost my best friend on Earth…He cared enough about me to make sure I had a reminder of His presence and plans. Jer. 29:11. That was my Mom’s life verse, and it is a reminder that God is in control of all of our lives and mine individually too.

I am glad this ministry is out there…not sure I would have gotten a
penny like this or even been aware of this ministry. Thank you.

These pennies have been such a blessing not only to my live but to may others who did not know the Lord. They are one of the BEST Tools for Evangelism. I will leave one as a tip with my tip in restaurants and sometimes the waiter/waitress will ask about the penny why is there a cross punched out on it.This is also true about when I go into a buissness to pay for a purchase when I pull out my coins I always keep some in with my loose change. Or just a few left around my office for folks to see. They will ask questions about them and this leaves me open to witness to them. I tell them that the cross in the penny reminds me each day to Pray and to thank God for dying for our sins upon that cross at Calvery, and for all He has done in my life. How God had cahnged my life from complete hopeless life of hell to a wonderful life through Him. There for I can look forward to having Enternal Life through Him. And for those who do not know the Lord as their Lord and Savior will want to know how they can have this Enternal Life. This leaves the door wide open for me and others who uses these pennies to possibly bring a lost sheep to the Lord. I want to thank Cross Penny Ministries for making these pennies, keep up the great work. May you be blessed in all you do.

Thank you so much for one of the best “door openers” for evangelizing. I carry some of the Cross Pennies in with my regular change. When I am paying for purchases I now pull out a small handful of change, and slowly count out what is needed. Often the cashier, or someone nearby, will ask what the Cross Penny is? Bingo!!! If they do not ask, the CP reminds me to ask them if they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and if they say yes, that opens the door for telling them that there is nothing magical about the CP, but that it is a great reminder of the price Jesus paid for all of us, and that it is also a terrific witnessing tool. If they say they have not yet accepted Jesus, there is another opportunity to lift Him up. Thank you so VERY MUCH for this wonderful witnessing aid, and personal reminder. – Rev. Tom D

One afternoon, I was visiting my uncle at the hospital and as I walked through the parking lot, the Lord prompted me to throw a penny in the back of a truck. I stopped and said “now Lord, people don’t like you throwing stuff in the back of their truck!” Well, of course, He told me again and when the coast was clear, I threw it in the truck. After about 2 weeks a woman called me and asked if I punch the cross pennies and I said yes. She asked me if I was at the hospital about 2 weeks ago and if yes, did I throw a penny in the back of her truck? Wondering what she would say next, I told her I did indeed throw the penny. Here is what she told me: On that day my mother and I were at the hospital for her chemo treatments. We started to get in the truck and my mother stopped because she saw that penny shining in the truck bed. She picked it up and held it to her cheek saying she had thought God didn’t know where she was or what she was going through or even cared. That penny was a little reminder for her, that God did care and knew exactly what was going on!! A few weeks after that, my mother died but she had that penny to the very end and now I have it!
