“The World Looks Different When You Look Through the Cross in the Penny!”
One afternoon, I was visiting my uncle at the hospital and as I walked through the parking lot, the Lord prompted me to throw a penny in the back of a truck. I stopped and said “now Lord, people don’t like you throwing stuff in the back of their truck!” Well, of course, He told me again and when the coast was clear, I threw it in the truck. After about 2 weeks a woman called me and asked if I punch the cross pennies and I said yes. She asked me if I was at the hospital about 2 weeks ago and if yes, did I throw a penny in the back of her truck? Wondering what she would say next, I told her I did indeed throw the penny. Here is what she told me: On that day my mother and I were at the hospital for her chemo treatments. We started to get in the truck and my mother stopped because she saw that penny shining in the truck bed. She picked it up and held it to her cheek saying she had thought God didn’t know where she was or what she was going through or even cared. That penny was a little reminder for her, that God did care and knew exactly what was going on!! A few weeks after that, my mother died but she had that penny to the very end and now I have it!

My friend Gary Guinette gets cross pennies from you. I have seen people’s countenance change completely as he gives them one. He usually says something about ‘this is not a good luck charm or a trinket, it is a gift from me to you from God to remind you of the One sent (cent) to forgive you for your sins so that you can freely approach God’. It varies a bit but that’s the idea. It is amazing to watch.
My wife and I are traveling from Florida to Nevada in a couple of days. The bag of cross pennies Gary dropped by our home today will make the trip with us . . . with several finding hearts to mend and soften along the way.
